Flyers have scored two or FEWER goals in 23 of their last 35 games dating to Jan 1 and scored more than three only six times over that same period. After teasing us at the top of the points leader board for a good two to three months, Jake has six goals and 16 points in 35 games and Giroux has five goals and 15 points. FWIW, Simmonds has 12 goals and 22 points over that same period. Again, I might be overestimating the talent on our roster but for this group to have averaged two goals a game for over two months is almost impossible to believe.

They've struggled to score at even strength for years.

It's no coincidence guys like Giroux and Simmonds get most of their points on the PP.

Their even strength play just isn't that good for whatever reason.

Its tough for the forwards to score when they're back helping the defense. Mason looks good but the defense that is in front of him is pretty shabby. Street, Schultz, MDZ, AMac, Grossmann, and LSchenn are a pretty sad group. If the forwards weren't helping them out, Mase would be getting bombed every night.

i'm sure g/jake/simmonds being the only 3 good offensive players has something to do with it too.
