A. The team's handling of Mason's injuries this season.

B. Disagreement with Berube's philosophy.

Figure by the time they find more offensive pieces to put around Giroux, Voracek, and Simmonds and bring up Sanheim, Morin, Gostisbehere, and Hagg to go with Del Zotto, someone other than Berube will be brought in to lead their next run at a Cup

Reese was apparently fired because he spoke up about Mason's injuries being mishandled, with the game last Thursday against Toronto where Mason wasn't told he wasn't going to play (only 16 days out from knee surgery) only to have Berube put him in because it was a "gut call" being the final straw.
