i recognize that. it's frustrating when your "star" player, who is one of the best in faceoffs in the league, loses one cleanly in a big spot

the "star" has 2 goals in his last 18 games

He's also doing what he can with Raffl playing on his left. Raffl's a useful guy to have on the roster, but he's not a first-liner.

this makes zero sense. faceoffs are a very important part of the game and something giroux is very good at. and with the season on the line, he lost. cleanly. like not even close. this after he had yet another below average game.

it's just a super dumb thing to get all worked up about.

He has 61 points in 65 games. Without him, the last month of games aren't critical for anything other than draft position.

captain gets the praise, captain gets the blame. it happens, but like you said, it was cleanly. you have to at least try to tie him up.

A little crazy to point to that as the loss of the season though.

This season has been circling the drain for a while. It went down the chute with the losses to Columbus twice, Buffalo, Carolina and Toronto last month. Today's game really meant nothing with Boston to catch and both Florida and Ottawa ahead of the Flyers. Was it a bad way to lose? Sure but just one of many this season.
