Did my part to highlight the farce that is the All-Star game (this time it counts!). 9 Royals received 35 votes apiece.

their offense sans Harper has been pretty shitty.

Rendon is back so that should help, but Desmond and Zimmerman have been Utley-awful this year.

In 1957, the Reds put out ballots that were already filled out with Reds. If I'm not mistaken, the scandal resulted in the end of the fan vote. It was brought back in the 70s.

Pitching not that great either except for Scherzer and Storen.

I'm not sure what is good about all the royals getting picked. Is this an attempt to get them to change the selection system? If so, what is the preferred outcome?

Should the managers pick the team or the GMs? I'm just wondering that the end game is here.

Personally, I'd be OK if they just removed the connection to HFA in the World Series. It's not OK to impose that kind of significance on a game that in all other ways is treated as a popularity contest.

I'm just concerned that it may not have the desired outcome. We're talking MLB here. They'll probably respond in the dumbest way possible.

I didn't think anything of all the royals being top vote getters since kc is the defending AL champion and a first place team this year.
