I don't know that I've ever felt so certain of the four playoff teams in the league this early in the season. Is there any way it won't be Nationals, Cardinals, Dodgers and Cubs?

I think the Pirates will still make a push. Possibly the Marlins too.

The Cubs are going to be so good for a long time.

Well, there you go, I'm on tenterhooks. Bud Selig is a genius.

Ken_Rosenthal
#Marlins still paying Guillen; this is final year of his four-year, $10M contract. Redmond signed two-year extension through ’17 last Sept.

Fish named their GM, Dan Jennings, as manager.

That's awesome. Only managerial experience was in the mid-80s at the high school level.

And they have the identical record as they did in 2003 when they fired Torborg.

Not just managerial. Only coaching experience. This is unbelievable.

It's either going to be insanely brilliant or an unmitigated disaster. And it's Jeffrey Loria, so probably the latter.

Except at least the Pope managed in the minors and played in the big leagues. Jennings has done neither.

Never played in MLB.

He hit .374 in seven minor league seasons. Highest level was class C. He was always very old for his age.
