the other way to look at it is they're getting advanced players because they need help at the major league level ASAP to save their jobs.

My view is they are looking for guys with a lower ceiling but higher floor because they need depth. Look at Clearwater and see what happens when you overdraft cheap college Seniors to save money for toolsy lottery picks. I mean David Buchanan was our best option for a #6 starter. Our #7 was signing Jason Marquis!
