Not really into sports biographies tbh. Might make an exception for Pedro - we'll see.

I think if you play it as 3 game series all @ Wild Card #1 (giving some reason to actually BE the first wild card as getting home field for a single game doesn't seem like a big deal to me) and play it MON-TUES-WED, then the rest can still start at the same time. Ditch the tiebreaker game like moz said and go off regular season record. If a team is 5-1 versus the team they're tied with, then fuck the other team; play better during the regular season then.

edit: oy vey, this would have not sorted out the Texas-Tampa deal as they, for whatever reason, played 8 games head-to-head and both were 4-4. I guess you could just do it the way the NFL does it and figure out various tiebreakers from there, like overall record in the AL and things like that.

^ Yeah, use the regular season to determine as much as possible. They play 162 games for heaven's sake, make 'em count for as much as possible.

GeeAMbee says he'll come back for one more season to make it an even 20. He'll be 43 in January

Let me just say that it'll be a crock of shit if Puig gets NL RoY over Jose Fernandez.

Albert Belle was an Eagle scout who graduated 6th in his high school class.

Who'da thunk it?

Well, graduated 6th isn't a huge surprise. Indeed, I suspect being smart might have been part of the problem--lotta smart people are arrogant, and I think for smart athletes it's a double whammy (eg Reggie Jackson, Rube...). The Eagle Scout bit, on the other hand, is a bit surprising.

The high leg kick was the only swing-like part of his motion! :)

My favorite part is his left leg being in front of his right leg as he swings. I'm not sure that's ideal, for a lefthanded batter.

I feel like his style would work well in 19th century baseball. Ideal to get a running headstart to first
