8/10, 1 brain fart (#1) and one where either the question is misleading or I'm just wrong about the application (#5).

while researching my lack of knowledge in manners of arbitration, I came across this FACTOID which was before unknown to me:

Q: How is licensing revenue distributed?
A: Players receive a pro rata share of licensing revenue regardless of popularity or stature. Each player share is determined by his actual days of Major League service in a given season.

So no wonder Moyer wanted to stay in as long as possible. When he retired, all other players probably received a nice royalty bump here. :)

but seriously, anybody know how substantial a chunk of change this works out to? I wonder if it's beer money or yacht money??

hmmm, maybe it just covers UNION DUES:
Q: How much are union dues?
A: The players' dues are $65 per day during the season.

that's like $12K per year.

Pretty sure the whole quiz is invalid, in the very first question it says that Ben Revere is on 2B with nobody out

That was a trick question because my default thought was that Michael Young would hit into a DP.

Manny Ramirez left his Taiwanese team. Not sure if he's coming back to the U.S. or if he's going to Japan

Interesting article by Bill James at his site. He puts the chance that Machado breaks the record this season at 3 percent.

The record holder is Earl Webb who set it in 1931 while a Red Sox at the age of 33. The second place AL guy that year 47. Webb's second highest doubles total in MLB was 30.

He was a real journeyman who only had a handful of seasons in the big leagues as a regular player. His best three years were in his age 32 and 33 seasons. He apparently was a good hitter who was awful in the field.

I'm trying to think of examples of the top closers in the league who were traded mid season. Other then Bedrosian, I can't think of any other examples. It's probably too early in the morning.

@keithlaw: House sale closed yesterday and we just landed at PHL. After two years, nine months, and eight days, my Arizona adventure is over.

Keith moving to Philly?
