I know '13 Thome isn't young Ortiz. But even in 2011 after having a 1.039 OPS in 108 games Thome only signed for $3 million the next year. And old Ortiz had to go year to year with Boston on his contracts despite being a perennial all star. I don't think there are many young free agent DHs so it's hard to find a younger comparison. It just seems like DHs are undervalued. And I still think Thome would have given at least average DH production this year even if it's for half a year, compared to what some teams are doing with their DH spot.

Thome might sign with someone at some point during the season. I don't think any team expected him to stay healthy enough for the whole season to make it worth it bringing him in for the whole year. If a team is in contention in July/August and needs to upgrade their DH I'm sure they will give him a call.

Baker, who led the American League in home runs in 1911, earned the nickname "Home Run" during the 1911 World Series in which he hit a go-ahead home run off Rube Marquard in Game 2, and a ninth-inning game-tying home run off Christy Mathewson in Game 3. His home run crown would be the first of four consecutive seasons leading the American League in home runs. He hit 11 home runs in 1911, 10 in 1912, 12 in 1913 and nine in 1914. In two of those seasons he also led the American League in runs batted in.

On June 3, 2013, Bradley was convicted on nine counts of physically attacking and threatening his wife including four counts of spousal battery, two counts of criminal threats, one count of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of vandalism and one count of brandishing a deadly weapon. He could face more than seven years in jail

who knew that guy could blow up like that?

a decent 7 of 10

got 2,3,4 wrong

2....i thought runners couldnt make contact with each other on the bases

3...i thought any ball deemed catchable in the air is valid for an infield fly rule call

4...didnt think you could change a line up during the game
