Who was paying anything above the minimum for John Mayberry? He's going to be 30, coming off back to back sub-700 OPS seasons, and coming off a year where he wasn't even a viable platoon guy. Even if somebody did inexplicably love him and would outbid us for him, WHO CARES? Especially when you have a guy that (although it's not preferable) can play 1B and COF already. It's not hard to find a platoon outfielder.

This fucking team.
