If people are willing to be quoted by name, it's real bad. I wonder if Cano cares. I guess he has 240 million reasons not to.

What Jack Z was known for was his talent evaluation ability. That is a very good skill. You know who else is really good? Jim Bowden. But GMs spend a lot of time doing other things and leave most of the talent evaluation to others.

Z did hire an entire SABER department here. But he didn't necessarily listen to them.

You can tell Boston listens to Bill James. You can tell Tampa Bay has good corporate culture regarding putting together a ball club.

The Mariners have a lot of young players who should be good but aren't. It's kinda weird. The nerds out there have never slammed Jack Z's moves all that much. They made sense on paper. But these guys just don't hit in the big leagues.

Bobby Cox, Tony LaRussa, Joe Torre were all voted unanimously to the HOF in the Expansion Era vote. None of the other guys got more than 6 votes (12/16 were needed).

Wife-beater Bobby Cox is a Hall of Famer. Moral vanguards of the Hall of Fame vigorously working to keep Barry Bonds out forever though.

So the moral is, better to beat on your wife than bet on a game.

Top Wife Beaters in Sports

Barry Bonds

What All-Star team would be complete without All-World Barry Bonds. After a game, one afternoon, Mrs. Bonds wanted to hang out with some friends. Mr. Nice Guy told her that she could not leave the house “until the children were fed their dinner.” How can you have your pudding, if you haven’t fed the children their dinner? Pink Floyd style. She fed the the little cherubs and went out. She didnt get home till real late. Like 11:30 pm. How does he put up with that stuff? Anyway, she gets home and starts looking for her birth control pills. Barry’s not having it. He throws her against the car and grabs her around the neck. Again, he strangles her, and throws her down the stairs. Not to bet deterred, Mrs Bonds, came back to get her pills. At that point, did she need them that bad? It doesn’t seem like anything was gonna happen any time soon anyway. Barry really showed her who’s boss this time though, smashing her to the ground and kicking her around a couple a times. I really hate this guy, and he wonders why “people are out to get him.” Jerk.

That writer should stop spying on people at home like that.

That was one name that came to mind earlier when I thought about Dom. Didn't think Masterson would be available though.

Rube on MLB network
"We're built to win"
"Trying to build around Dom as we transition to a younger club"
"Papelbon has the stuff, we need to put the team in a position to use it "(he needs adrenaline)
"Plenty of options in the free agent market, that's probably the direction we'll look"
"Expect Gonzalez to start as the three, so far he's healthy"
Wasn't surprised about Roy's retirement, "most accountable player I've been around"
