I looked it up. I can't quote it because I'm on my IPad. The stat was from One of the Seidman bro's. And the stat was starts in which he allowed fewer than three runs. And he was awesome in that regard for a nice stretch. Maybe later on in the thread someone was adding in QSs. In the first half of this season he had 11 or 12 games in which he pitched 6-9 innings and gave up 2 or fewer runs which is more impressive than QSs. And he had a bunch of others dating back a season and a half or more if I'm remembering right.
He has had a bunch of really effective starts and quite a few disaster or near disaster starts in his recent run. His overall numbers are hurt by the bad starts. But he has been better than he has ever had any right to be given his stuff.
That's why he's a hero.
But all that aside, I'm glad the Phils signed that Cuban cat. I hope he's good and can slide in to be a nice number three type starter. I also hope Kendrick is not with the club next year because he isn't really good. And I think the magic is gone. You can only change your style so many times before your out of bullets when you can't strike out guys and get clubbed by lefties.
It would be really kewl if we could trade him for something of any value at all.
I think that was the general gist of the thread we're talking about.
