The second one vs the Cards was the beginning of the end. Devastating loss in so many ways.

They were pretty shitty, but you know, the Phils were in the playoffs. I liked that.

I take it Savery up for a few days then they replace him with a starter, or hopefully dfa durbin.

I don't know why I rate it higher, but that Giants NLCS loss was the most devastating I've ever felt after a series.

Knowing that the Phils were clearly the superior team is what made that one REALLY suck. That and the Giants had so many insufferable assclowns on that team.

Baseball playoffs are the worst (and yes, I know the Phils weren't the best team when they won).

In fact, I'd put the Abreu trade as worse than the Howard injury.

Huh? I loved Bobby, but the Phils immediately went on a winning streak, then the best five-year run in team history

The actual day was pretty bad though. It seemed like they were more interested in appeasing the most moronic elements of the fan base than winning games.

Oh I gotcha, my bad. I remember hearing it on the radio and being pretty sad. I still felt pretty good about Phillies baseball at large though

i was way more goth-y then and i remember thinking that, given the return, we had basically given ABREAU (never forget) away. then someone told we had also thrown cory lidle in there, too, and well, now he's dead

Come to think of it, I did feel appeased.

I can't imagine this guy would be any worse than Revere.

I contend that the 2008 Phils were the best team in MLB from the second half on. The starting pitching wasn't fabulous, but if I remember right, it improved in the second half and the bullpen was really, really good. The offense was pretty killer and they had some good bench guys.

Matt Gelb ‏@magelb 11s
Amaro said Phillies will go internal for call-up to fill Friday’s starting spot. Also looking outside org for long-term answer.
