Interesting article by Dave Cameron on the increase in strikeouts and "passivity" among hitters (that I learned about from SABR to which I belong and you should too).

The data shows that hitters are swinging just as often now as they did 20 years ago, but what the umpire says after they choose not to swing is the thing that has changed the most.

There's a lot of stuff like that going on. A father at my old school did it for his daughter at an assembly. It's think it's kinda a thing now. Still nice though.
