Cabrera and D-Train to Detroit for:
-- Cameron Maybin (3 seasons then traded to the Padres for Edward Mujica (1.5 seasons then traded to the Cardinals for Zack Cox (AA)) and Ryan Webb (still on the Marlins))
-- Burke Badenhop (4 seasons then traded to the Rays for Jake Jefferies, still playing in AAA)
-- Andrew Miller (3 seasons then traded to the Red Sox for Dustin Richardson, who was waived and retired without ever playing for them)
-- Frankie De La Cruz (purchased by the Padres after one season)
-- Mike Rabelo (retired 6 months after the trade)
-- Dallas Trahern (out of baseball?)

So the Fish turned Cabrera into Webb, Cox and Jefferies

Maybin and Miller were considered to be uber-elite prospects at the time. Didn't work out that way.

On the other hand, there's no doubt about once uber-prospect Mike Moustakas: he sucks.

Cabrera has reached "check the box score every day to see what he did" status.

2010-2012 he had a .334/.420/.604 batting line. He's been far and away the best hitter in baseball for the last 3 years. It's not really close.

I heard that Billy Hamilton got called up by the Reds but haven't been able to find anything to corroborate that.

This Great Debate show on MLBN is featuring the 37th debate between Reynolds and Kenney regarding closers. I think the show is called MLB Now.
