“He’s so funny, he said, ‘C’mon, hit me a home run, I love you.’ I said, ‘I love you too, I’ll hit you one,’” Frazier recalled.

shin soo choo has 9 hit by pitches already this year. the all time single season record is 51 by something called hughie jennings in 1896. ron hunt has the modern record with 50 in 1971.

Hughie Jennings was pretty famous. He was the Tiger manager during some of the Ty Cobb years. He was famous for shouting " eye-yah" a lot.

Wilton Lopez has a 2.25 WHIP through 9 games and has looked like crap against everyone that isn't the Padres. Think we lucked out on that one

I did not see it mentioned here, but Ryan Zimmerman is on the DL again. I though that he could have been the NL thirdbaseman successor to Chipper Jones (as a guy you just loath because he found new and painful ways to jam it to the Phils late in games), but he is trending to a player who spends portions of every season on the DL and looks like a bad longterm bet as a player.

the nats made a mistake bringing laroche back.

their best prospect is a 3B, and if they move him to 2b, they are going to ruin whatever career he might have.

zimm can't throw anymore, hes a liability at 3b, and the obvious move is to put him at 1b, not only to negate his terrible arm, but to try and keep him healthy.

Plus, they should have just let LaRoche walk and kept Morse

Or that. LaRoche had a .267/.337/.478 batting line through 2011. He had pretty good years in 08 and 09. Otherwise, pretty mediocre. Why they felt a 32 year old having a sudden power surge meant they should keep him around I have no idea. Incredibly poor decision.

which they shouldnt have done. he was tied to draft pick compensation too, so they'd have gotten something for him if a team got desperate in spring training. morse was under control and could have played 1b. instead they dumped him for basically nothing. morse is going to get hurt this year, and he isnt a world beater, but hes also now on a 2/10.5 deal. and he can play LF. which would have allowed them to move zim to 1b this summer, put rendon at 3b, and move morse to LF.
