The White Sox and Phillies are the two most aggressive teams in pursuit of a third baseman, a source tells Dan Hayes of CSNChicago.com. Kevin Youkilis is the object of both team's pursuit. Hayes writes the Sox may have to move another high salary in order to afford Youkilis and floats the names of Jeff Keppinger, Mark Reynolds, and Eric Chavez as alternatives.

Pagan is going to be the youngest player we acquire this offseason.

These are like nightmare scenarios dor me. All old, expensive, shitty players. While the Nats get Span and maybe Grienke, and the Braves get Upton.

Fuck Amaro.

Youkilis is our only hope of having a decent 3B this year.

the only upside of signing him would be what we could call his usual routine in the batters box (hoping he has one)

I don't see what is so special about Span.

The funny part is that this is the year Amaro probably isn't going for the quick expensive buy

He didn't go 15 mil for Upton, didn't give up a top prospect for Span and tried a great bullpen pickup. I'm okay with what has transpired so far, which is nothing.

i'd go for kep at 3b on a short 2 w/ option deal to see how asche shakes out dont want to lock into another 3 or 4 year term like bell or polanco. plus he's a guy with flexibility in the event asche fast tracks himself plus there will prob always be a corner of or if spot for him to fill in at, and if not, then he's still more tradeable on a short deal.

in the of hamilton should obviously be top target 3-4 year deal if that falls through go all out on the other upton imo

Someone posted that the Braves have been in the low 90's with their payroll for like a decade now so I am pretty pumped that about 1/6 of their payroll will be going to Upton for the next 5 years.

ESPN Insider says Alfonso Soriano to Phillies????

Any interest? Cubs are trying to move him at Winter Meetings and they say that Philly may be a suitor..

They'd have to eat most of his contract and accept a non-prospect. At that point, I'm not sure it makes much sense for them to deal him.
