Absolutely no on moving Doc.

What is everyone's no-trade list right now? Mine is Doc, Cliff, Cole (lots of variables here though), Vance, Paps, Ryan, Chase, Chooch. I think that's it.

I don't understand the concept of a no trade list. I think Worley has a ton of trade value for example, but would you turn down a Worley for Middlebrooks trade (which the Sox wouldn't do anymore with no Youk, but just as a hypo). Would you all turn down a Chole for Olt and Perez trade?

In an ideal world, they'd sign Cole to a 6 or fewer year deal, trade Vic and/or Pence for good value, trade Blanton/Pierre/Wiggs for warm bodies, and play Brown/DeFratus/Aumont to see if they can realistically contribute next year

was he hurt at the end of spring training? i wasn't too up on things at that point, but i remember him having a real solid spring but then getting cut (so that pierre could make the squad essentially).

but nonetheless, he should have been your starting LF. made no sense. we tend to forget that brown, coming from largely a football background, reached the pinnacle at like age 22. he's only 24 now. i can still see him being an everyday player, easily.

I think he was hurt. Can't remember for sure but I don't remember his name even coming up for the job so that's my best guess

must of been cause he was the only guy i was really "following" during ST and i thought he had a good one. also thought the pod/pierre for the final spot was the reason he didn't make it though (perhaps combined with a minor injury - also combined with amaro wanting pierre as a phillies for like the last 7 years)

He was horrible in the field, including dropping easy fly balls. And he was injured several times, including hurting his neck sleeping on the bus.

Amaro won't acquire players to help the team unless the team plays better before the trade deadline but the team can't perform better unless the bullpen is fixed. Wtf?

He got sent down on the 23rd, and hadn't played since the 14th. Phillies were also concerned with how he would adapt to left field, and obviously didn't have any answers to that since he wasn't playing. I guess you could say he had a "good" spring, but he only appeared in seven games.

I can't really argue too much with the Phillies plan to see if Mayberry could play every day, with Nix and Pierre as left handed options, while hoping Brown would right himself in AAA and be able to be plugged in later in the season, or trade for a bat at mid-season to get them over the top.

Well, at the time, I mean. Now I know we should have signed Beltran.

Mayberry/Pierre was fine going into the season. We all knew Polanco's been dead weight since late 2010 and should have been replaced by literally anybody. That was probably my biggest concern going into the season, that we didn't have a legitimate starting third baseman.

Well, good foresight then. I personally hoped that Polanco would finally be healthier and this would propel him to solidly below average production, combined with an uptick above average defense. But you were right, the Phillies' third basemen have been awful, both individually and collectively.

I think I might take even odds that the Phils are ahead of the Mets by September 1st

FWIW, if Victorino wants to do the exact Rollins contract, I would be fine with extending him on those terms

On bbtn stark or olney said he turned down a 3/30 deal before the season. Not sure I ever heard that.

He had a pretty good reason to turn that down before the season
