In 2009, as a part time player (400 PA), he had a 107 RC+. That doesn't stink. He was worth almost 3 wins in 2010, didn't suck. He sucked last year. Theres no clear evidence to suggest he's completely done or that he objectively sucks as a player right now.

I disagree. I think there are multiple people rooting against him and eagerly waiting for him to make an out in a key spot so they can run here and gloat.

He's taking up approximately 0.47% of the payroll. And he's not blocking anyone. If Nix starts to hit, he'll play more. If Wigginton starts to hit, he'll play more.

I don't see the point in getting worked up over Pierre at all. People hate him because of what he did to the Phillies 8 years ago. Which is the very definition of irrational.

I gather you're using fangraphs WAR? BB-REF is less kind. Regardless, 2009 looks like an outlier; it's the only year since 2004 he hasn't been a net negative with the bat. His fielding numbers are all over the map, and a big spike in his fielding runs in 2010 is the only reason he had positive WAR. I'll concede it's possible that he could add some value that way but I haven't seen any evidence of that so far.

I have no problem with Juan Pierre getting AB at the expense of Nix and Wigginton. Pierre has a .321 career wOBA, (last year he was awful, I know). Probably can expect a wOBA around .315.

Nix has a career .305 wOBA and was .321 and .322 the last two years he had more than 300 PA. Wiggington's last 3 years are .322, .316. and .311.

This is something to get worked up about? Who the fuck cares. They all suck balls. Play Wiggington against LHP and switch it up with Nix and Pierre. It really doesn't matter.
