slider bat speed
can't play defense

I forgot that Laynce Nix, John Mayberry Jr. and Ty Wiggington are 8x gold glove 1bmen...

Nix doesn't play first but he plays very good LF defense
Mayberry plays LF and CF, neither of which Rizzoti can do
Wigginton plays 2b and 3b in a pinch

What is your deal, man

yes.

they sent his ass back to AA in 2011 after he'd raked there in 2010. They obviously realize that he doesn't have the bat speed necessary to hit at the major league level.

Didn't he also go unclaimed on waivers a year or two ago?

The Mariners need slider speed bats. We could probably get Yoervis Jose "Funky Cold" Medina for him.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

A hole in his swing you could fit his belly through

Maybe. But he batted in the 330s in AA and AAA last year. That counts for something.

actually he only hit .200 in AAA in 2010 in the only 20 games he played there.

Might have been his non-sliderz BA.

Galvis came to camp and asked to get reps at second and third. It's turned into an every day thing and the coaches have said he looks good there. Bodes well for his future.
