How are the phillies not in this sub-section? Their farm system is devoid of talent due to them emptying it for over-priced pitchers, and they have way too many $18 mil - $25 million/year long-term contracts. they are screwed from 2012 through the foreseeable future. especially with their playoff meal tickets getting better every year (anyone can win 102 games when you play 54 games against the Mets, Marlins, and Nationals each year).

Why didnt the Braves win 102?

Anyone can win 90 games playing the Reds, Pirates, Cubs and Astros and earning a playoff spot on the last day of the season because the team that won 102 games just has to win one more.

Zimmerman’s current contract runs out after the 2013 season, and he has said he will almost certainly test free agency if he does not have a contract extension heading into that season. If they can’t get a deal by spring training, next winter would seemingly become the only negotiating window remaining.

Matt Gelb @magelb
@rheahughes Respectfully, if you're going to have someone on to inaccurately discuss my reporting, I'd rather you not discuss it at all.

Rhea Hughes @rheahughes
@magelb what was the problem?

Matt Gelb @magelb
@rheahughes At no point in the story do I say the Phillies are likely to create their own network or that it's even a remote possibility.

this made me go to his site and read his post on someone else's reporting. he takes this part:

"We will see," David Montgomery said recently. "Right now, we're enjoying tremendous popularity. We would hope our friends at Comcast would see that as well. I'm sure they will."

The present deal with Comcast ends in 2015.

The Phillies' president smirked, a rare moment of candor for the public face of a silent ownership group that has it all going right now.

And then deduces that the most likely option is Gelb knows they are pursuing their own network but isnt allowed to say and this is his way of kind of saying it.

stealing other people's article and talking about them on WIP. then pretending like he knows shit. boggles my mind that people actually have him on the air to talk about anything. they have to know that 95 percent of the stuff on his blog is stolen from somewhere else.

Preface, I don't listen to WIP, but have listened to 97.5 in the past.

These radio shows are obviously all about ratings. Their listeners are the type of people who get information about the Phillies from a site like Crossing Broad. We all know Kyle Scott is all about page views and nothing more. He doesn't give a shit where he gets his "material" from because he knows his audience, they eat it up. They defend him constantly. Kyle wastes the majority of his day defending his stealing by saying he doesn't steal but offers to support to back up that assertion. He watermarked a picture of Chase Utley's child FFS.

He is going to remain an arrogant asshole if he continues to get a medium to talk and the radio stations need listeners.

Do you think Monty knows who Kyle Scott is? Hell fucking no.

I am glad Gelb called out WIP, rather than calling out Kyle. We all know Kyle's bullshit and he would try to start a Twitter war.

Do the Phillies credential that piece of shit?

and its out of 30 in each category

the phillies will have high scores in the majors, finance, and management. mobility im sure we'll be dinged, as we will be in the minors. but i expect our majors, finance and management scores will all be in the high 20s.

72.0% Strike%, 27.1% SwStr%, 46.0% Whiff%
...
Even if the hitter made contact, his changeup induced a 66.9% GB rate to righties and a 65.0% GB rate to lefties.
