This just anecdotal, but it sure looks like his velocity is down.

Maybe a little JFLY. He was at 92-93 and occasionally 94 in June. Recently he's been more 91-92 with a rare 93.

I haven't done an exhaustive check but I might later.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

I thought I remembered him hitting 95 in his first start and everybody saying "Oooh"

How could they do this?

Someone find me the fattest remaining reliever in the system so I can bandwagon into his camp

At this point I'd settle for a Liscio's gift certificate.

is today the day where the Phillies really play their first 'must win' game of the season? Just to prove to themselves that they can beat some of the bottom dwelling teams. Then again, starting tomorrow they can prove my mind wrong about the need for momentum heading into October and my disbelief of the idea that winning can just be switched on by sweeping the Braves.

Believe me, the Phillies' current 8 game losing streak really has me PO'ed, even if the games are meaningless. Having said that, I'll note the 2000 Yankees, who were 2-time defending World Series champions and had made the playoffs the previous 5 years, "backed" their way into the AL East title, losing 13 of their last 15 games of the regular season. All that Yankees team did in the playoffs was win 3 straight series and win their 3rd straight World Series title.

I hate it but, for regression purposes, I think it's going to mean great things in the post season.
