Bastardo #s in his career so far
Starter
4.89 xFIP, 2.38 K/BB, 16.2 IFF%, 10.8 HR/FB%

Reliefer
3.72 xFIP, 2.54 K/BB, 24.4 IFF%, 4.4 HR/FB% His LD% is a ridiculous 14.5%.

So, his extremely low BABIP is fluky, but he'll continue to get weak outs at a good clip IMO. His FB has that elite vertical movement which I think correlates very strongly with poor contact/weak flyballs. Think Matt Cain.

I heard he was throwing as hard as he ever has.

The ball just wasn't getting there as quick.

Uh-oh, Vic heading back to PHL to have his thumb examined (Zolecki)
Shane Victorino is headed to Philadelphia to see hand specialist Randall Culp.

He is expected to rejoin the team tomorrow in Florida.

Victorino jammed his right thumb when taking a bad fall in center field Sunday in Toronto. Victorino had the thumb in a sleeve yesterday. He said he thought it would be OK, but Charlie Manuel said after last night’s game Victorino would not be able to play tonight.

The Phillies recalled John Mayberry Jr. Expect to see him in center field tonight. The Phillies optioned Vance Worley following last night’s game, so the Phillies had an open spot on the roster.

I dunno, and I'm actually glad they can fit Mayberry on the squad for a while since he can do things that are a challenge for most of our outfielders like run and field and throw, and he can even catch a fastball and send it over the fence once in a while. I just don't think he's a very good hitter.

For those reasons, I think he's perfect for our bench. It's just too bad Gload won't go on the DL.

yeah, forgot the Colorado series was 4 games, but we would've avoided Jurrjens anyway

as painful as it has been to watch, Phillies O is actually just middle of the pack. that continues to amaze me.

I haven't worked it out on a per game basis, but since Utley's return on May 23rd the Phillies have scored more runs than any NL teams other than the Mets, Brewers, DBacks and Rockies, even edging out the Reds.

Dead ball era.
