Pay Hamels now plz. Much easier to figure the other stuff out with three lock-down starters through at least 2014.

I think we can all agree that it's going to be tough to dig out of this 26-16 hole and get back in the race. I think the next two weeks are critical in that regard. If we can't turn it around, I'd seriously look into trading someone like Madson or Polanco. Both have pretty high value right now. Hamels probably gets you two A+ prospects since he's still under control for another year. How about to a contender like the Indians for Chisenhall and White?
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

We should get that LaPorta guy. He's ready to buss out.

there are at least two more of these in my area. one says "join a winning team" and the other says "VALUE". mascaro is a waste disposal company. it's basically the greatest thing ever.
Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

There's one of these near my house, on the bridge b/w Mont Claire & Phoenixville. I tried to get a picture last week but it came out shitty

Good thing the world is ending on Saturday, so we don't have to watch this crap much longer.

the paranoid in me is worried the Phils fucked themselves by putting all their eggs in starting pitching when we're entering an era where scrubs are taking no-hitters into the sixth inning of every game.

I posted in the Vic/Blanton DL thread that lack of depth is the price you pay for big contracts like Lee, Howard, etc. Rube was gambling on health. Injuries are to be expected, but no one thought he'd roll snake eyes like this.

I'm not talking lack of depth. Since '07 the team has clearly hedged offensive firepower for pitching dominance and lineup stability (like with Victorino's and Howard's extensions). Obviously the team is fine now, but I wonder if we're entering an era like the '60s where teams had to scratch and claw for every run, which would seem to raise the replacement level for starting pitchers and minimize the importance of our four aces.

That's a really interesting thought.
