I like this. Lots of 1st to 3rding. More ABs for your most talented players. Fewer ABs for guys whose offensive contribution are based exclusively on balls finding open spaces and guys who alternate between being one of the best and worst hitters in the league on a monthly basis.

And no I don't care about L/L/L. If you're carrying Mayberry and Francisco, it won't be a problem late in games if teams bring in a LHP to face Brown.

I love that line up but I have a hard time believing Manuel would drop Polanco to the 6 spot.

Just reiterating how much I do not want Brown to be platooned.

Well Pittsburgh is starting three righties. Hopefully he'll keep on mashing.

I really dislike Charlie Morton because of his want to be exactly like Doc. Then dumbass commentators treat him as if he could actually come close to Doc by just copying everything about him.

If memory serves, didn't Werth slowly get worked in to the lineup? That turned out nicely. Obviously Werth and Dom were coming from different situations (injury trash pile v. best prospect ever), but I think Charlie knows what he is doing.

Yeah. Jenkins. At the time Werth was a MUCH better hitter vs. lefties than he was vs. righties. Jenkins was a star for a long timer and probably deserved a chance to show he wasn't cooked. Also Jenkins was actually benched in favor of Werth at some point. I'd guess 322 PAs for a former star free agent signing is about the minimum you'd expect. Werth was also not the most durable guy so his 482 PAs in '08 were a career high by almost 100.

Plus -- WFC!!!!!

Plus, Jenkins hit that huge double and was a great team guy which can't hurt.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

I figure Dom will start playing everyday eventually. I have no problem with Charlie letting him get adjusted to things by getting a steady dose of days off.
