These are players who made it past the first round of the home run derby and their stats since then:

Adrian Gonzalez:
.657 OPS 0 HR

Prince Fielder
.568 OPS 0 HR

David Ortiz:
.644 OPS 0 HR

Robinson Cano
.688 OPS 1 HR

Coincidence?

RT @Dejan_Kovacevic: The #Pirates made an aggressive pursuit of Carlos Beltran, but he refused to come.

If this is true, it makes me sad, really for Pirates fans. Has to suck knowing all baseball players hate your city.

I'm kind of convinced Beltran hasn't looked at the NL Central standings this year.

Don't tell me the f'ing odds. I'm at 3 years and counting.

Best of luck to Dave. Hope he gets himself to a good hospital. Have all the best to say about Jefferson.

EDIT: How did I miss the obvious Han Solo quote? Oh, well, guess the chemo fog is still going on. I usually like getting as much info as possible. When this came up, just wanted to get better. Never even went back in did as much investigation as I should. It didn't help that my one doctor was all doom and gloom. Everything that he mentioned ended with the word fatal. Really helped the spirits, actually made me sick. Hopefully over the worst, obviously, still some issues going (non-leukemia related), but beats the alternative.

Whoa.

I was at a game in 1999 where the Phillies, beginning against Irabu, turned a 5-2 deficit into an 11-5 win with a 9 run seventh inning.

i was at that game. Schilling started and got shelled, then they came back after he was pulled

while we were in traffic going home we jeered some Yankees fans in the car next to us, then they started a "Jo-oe Cart-er" chant (which is just terrible rhythmically) and my dad said "Keep living in the past" which was ironic because the Yankees were in the middle of a three-peat and the Phils won 77 games that year
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America

It does suck, as a Phillies fan we know it first hand. Pirates have gotta prove that they have their heads outta their asses for real before real players choose to go there.

His wife split with him a few months before. Apparently he was pretty depressed.
