A Mets official suggested to Mike Puma of the New York Post that Jason Bay could be demoted into a platoon in left field if he struggles offensively early this season.

Mets lock up Niese long term. He was under control for 4 more years anyway, but they signed him to a 5/25 deal w/ 2 team options that can raise it to 46 mil, and incentives that can push it to 52 mil.

It's actually good that they are winning. Build their fans' hopes and expectations up, then after a couple weeks or so watch them come crashing down.
