DSP's TV Thread (with J.E. Magee) [OT]

Alec Baldwin has asked NBC to let him out of his contract on 30 Rock. He told the ladies of the View that he'd like to focus on his divorce and book about divorce right now. Fortunatetly, NBC said no stating that he's too important to the show.
"I tell all kids not to use that word. If they're 29 and they win the World Series, I think they can say that.
But I definitely would say to all the kids out there, 'Kids, it's a bad word. Don't say it. And I'm dead serious.' "

If Alec Baldwin stepped down, I'm certain Rip Torn could step in.

I think 10 years ago I'd agree with you. But he was really off when he was on 30 Rock. I think Baldwin is perfect for that role, which isn't saying anything against Torn.

BTW, I just saw a new movie with William Baldwin. They can probably throw him on there, and it would be hard for a lot of people to tell the difference.

This past weekend, I had to convince a friend of mine that the Baldwin from Beetlejuice was the same one as the Baldwin from 30 Rock/The Departed. Good times.

Also, what was Rip Torn particularly funny in? He's never really been on my radar.

Million dollar question on "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" last night:

What is the only prime number that is a factor of 16?

Unlike "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?", they don't let you see the final question before you decide whether to go for it or not....only a subject. If you go for it and get it wrong, you drop from $500K to $25K....

factors are numbers that divide into a number evenly, so for 16, it's 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16. Of those, only 2 is a prime number (only divisible by 2 numbers: 1 and itself). 1 is not a prime number because "1" and "itself" are the same thing.

[/math]

Back on topic, Rip Torn was not funny in the Men in Black movies either...
