Heyman is Boras' guy FWIW
Industry guesstimates are that Phillies right fielder Jayson Werth will wind up getting a contract in the range of five years and $95 million in free agency this upcoming winter, and the Red Sox appear to be at the front of the line to sign him

Either way, I'll miss the guy, but I'd rather use the money toward Cole/Rollins.

no. please no more big bucks for the pen.
think about exactly how well that has worked out when its been tried.
you've got the same shot at a decent pen going with guys from the system and contreras/durbin type ex-starters as you do throwing money at the problem.

I'd be surprised if anybody picked against them as the favorites

The Phillies WAR total is a bit deflated by injuries, but if you look at the roster they are sending to the playoffs i'd think you'd have to say they have a pretty formidable offense.

Dave Cameron: Their offense is good, not great. Howard is overrated, Ibanez is mediocre, Rollins is not healthy and hasn't been an offensive force for a while now... it's more name value than production.
