I wouldn't be surprised if this is our peak this year, but we're on pace to win 98.5 games at the moment.

That doesn't suck.

other than after winning game one in 2005, i think that this is the highest that number has been since april 2003. pretty cool, though being this high in june didn't work out so well in 2001.

.303 .431 .483 .914. I mean, really. Coste is .246 .364 .446 .810.

Ryan Howard has been IBBed once this year. Fear Ibanez.

When I went to look at Cust's stats on BR, this is a guy I noticed. Baseball-Reference is totally cool:

Zambrano won his 100th game tonight. He turned 28 on the first of the month. If his arm holds up.....you know where I'm going with this.

"Because I don't want to play," he said. "I want to help this team. I want to do everything possible to win with this team. And after five years, four years, or whatever is left on my contract. ...

"You know how many Mother's Days I haven't spent with my mother? Twelve. You know how many things I've been [missing] in my life? It's good to be here, it's good to play baseball. But in five years. ... I will retire. And I won't have to see you anymore."

That team ate a lot of cereal I guess.

Other Michigan State League teams over the years: Jackson Jaxsons; Kalamazoo Celery Eaters; Traverse City Resorters; Muskegon Speeders; and my favorite: The Holland Wooden Shoes.

fangraphs added pitch type values to the player pages and leaderboards.

david eckstein is currently the best hitter in the league against curve balls.

RAUL is tops against sliders, 4th against change ups, and 3rd against cutters.

The answer I was looking for was "smooth". He was a "smooth" fielder.
