Great, why don't they hit up that massive agricultural concern, "EBBET'S EGGS & DAIRY" to get a $12,000.00 sponsorship.

You wonder how Metropolitan Life could have turned down the association.

Probably the Mets lack of "life" the past two late seasons. Doubt it'll be "Wall Street Field", with the Mets association with collapsing...

It's mission critical marketing.

writeup in the WSJ today said that Citi maybe wants to get out of it, but they might not be able to without paying a big breakup fee

There will be some fee involved. In pure contract law, if the fee is not in the contract, then it would be the contract price minus whatever the Mets could get from someone else. However, given Citi's financial distress and the current economic conditions, if Citi were to break the contract and the Mets tried to recover via a lawsuit, do you think there would be any jury that would award money to the Mets?

Cityscape Adult Novelties of course.

Cityscape Adult Novelties Park has a nice ring to it, plus it's similar enough to Citibank that some swag might be easily reconfigured.

These guys should do it. I think for a fine consumer product with low brand name identity, naming a stadium would be highly beneficial.

Billy Wagner's name as an anagram = Ill arm? Win wage!Billy Wagner is officially out for the 2009 season due to a tear in his medial collateral ligament (say that five times fast) and his flexor pronator (in English, he screwed up his left arm and elbow). However, despite his surgery, and the fact that he himself proclaimed that he has "played his last season as a Met," this lucky bastard will still receive his promised $10.5 million for the upcoming season. Poor baby. Poor Mets. That money could go to one of those roving free agents still looking for a home. Alas, it will go to Wagner and his busted left arm.
