Adam Dunn-OF- Diamondbacks Nov. 3 - 11:35 am et
MLB.com reports that the Nationals "have targeted" free agent Adam Dunn.
Washington is also said to be interested in sluggers like Prince Fielder, Matt Holliday and Mark Teixeira, but Dunn is by far the most realistic option given that Nationals general manager Jim Bowden drafted him back when he was with the Reds.

Swisher was very close to his paternal grandmother Betty Lorraine Swisher, who raised him after his parents' divorce and died from brain cancer in 2005; he famously has her initials tattooed on his chest. He points at the sky after every hit to acknowledge her and has her initials inked on the knob of his bats and usually on his batting gloves or shoes. To honor her further, he decided to grow his hair and donate it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a program that creates free wigs for cancer patients. On May 19th, 2007, he cut his hair with assistance from his father before Oakland's game. He intimated in March 2008 that he may again be growing out his hair for the Beautiful Lengths program.

Bill Madden, Anthony McCarron, and Adam Rubin of the New York Daily News say the Mets will be in the mix for C.C. Sabathia:
Omar Minaya was dicussing a trade for a pitcher with a GM but said he would first have to see how Sabathia's free agency was progressing, a baseball executive said. A Mets official subsequently wouldn't deny interest in Sabathia.
