I'm positive I don't want to see Ruiz have another at bat this season... or ever for that matter
I would rather see you lose than win myself

Mets fans hate their team too. And Marlins fans don't exist.

Someone has to win this piece of shit division.

I recall this team used to be good at scoring. Hopefully that returns at some point.

Holy shit, the 05 Padres pythagorean record was 77-85 which still would have put them in a tie with the 2nd place Diamondbacks. Speaking of them, their pythagorean record that year was 66-96. That could be not only the worst division of all time, but the luckiest worst division of all time.

Nah, I'll just continue to bitch about the first place team.

Here are several scenarios:

1) Playing well, but not in first. Bitch.
2) Playing poorly, not in first. Bitch.
3) Playing poorly, in first. Bitch.
4) Playing well, in first. We'll see.

They play 162 games; they're likely going to lose between 70 and 80 of them. Yet, every single time they lose, it's inexcusable. And every single one of them is illustrative of some major goddamned flaw. "They don't hit good pitching." "They don't hit bad pitching." "Their rotation sucks." "Their bullpen sucks/overworked/not structured right." "The manager's an idiot." "They're not clutch" "They only score runs in bunches." Blah blah blah.

Relax, enjoy the season. They are winning their division right now, and we all know they're not playing as well as they could be.

Very strange pep talk but I suppose a peptalk by definition. Usually pep talks are about looking to do some nutcutting, not trying to justify complete ineptitude over a 46 game period on the offensive side.

As a fan it doesn't really seem like being objective is always a good thing. Maybe in life but if we win the World Series, let's be objective and say: How are we going to look next year right after winning it?

There is nothing wrong with kneejerk unless it excelled by stupidity.
Do it again!
