I think they have a chance to get it in, might not get to play all nine innings though. I really hope they play.

So if this game gets rained out and Saturday as well, are the Mets doing DHs on Sunday and Monday with Monday agaisnt the Cubs and the Marlins? Then there's the possible play in game(s) for tiebreaker scenarios on Tuesday and I guess Wednesday? So the NL playoffs could conceivably start on Thursday?

I know you're kidding, but I don't think the Cubs will try hard if they have to play on a Monday game. Plus this increases our chances of locking things up sooner so Cole can be saved for Game 1.

And finally, even if the Mets win, I kinda just want to know how the story ends. I don't want to have to care about Monday, especially if that means playoff pushed to Tuesday and Wednesday possibly depending on what the Brewers do, which would screw with our rotation and bullpen really badly going into the playoffs.

Move all remaining NL games of import to Miller Field in Milwaukee. Play around the clock if need be - the "ESPN family of networks" could turn it into a Woodstock of baseball if so inclined.

I'm halfway serious. This weekend could be a serious mess.
