The Official LOVE The Mets Thread v2.0

I went in feeling positive enough. It's not that I thought the Phillies would lose, per se, it's that I was sure the Brewers would win, and felt the Mets would too (and they did hit Zambrano alright, I just didn't count on the Cubs caring after that --- I've learned again never to underestimate the crappiness of the Mets' bullpen).

Of course, once things got out of hand, I got mad. But I never booed or anything --- that's bad karma. The team IS in first place, and weren't going to fall out of it today.

I just get weirded out by people counting on chickens that haven't hatched yet.

BUT... my little bit of positivity DID prevent them from getting blown out. I thought about that thread when they were down 10-3, started explaining the situation to my wife, and BOOM! The Phillies came through with a clutch 4th run, and the no-losing-by-more-than-6 streak was intact.

If I were a Met fan, the only remaining question would be "HOW am I going to kill myself?"

Of course, were I a Met fan, it would be warranted regardless of standings.

So you wanna trade the 2nd best 3B in baseball because he’s having one bad year in the clutch?

Who do you replace him with?? Casey Blake?? Mike Lamb??

uh, Daniel Murphy, who seems to be a magnet for delivering when the pressure is on.

Would they take Victorino and Carrasco for Wright? Wright isn't of Latino decent. Victorino is Hawaiian, so I don't know how that factors in. But Carrasco is from Venezuela, so thats something. And we have Edgar Garcia, and Galvis, and Jesus Sanchez is being converted into a pitcher. And Welinson Baez too.

3 hits. Sure, Delgado hit a grand slam, but that was following 3 walks.

Castillo is 4-for-35 (.114) with one RBI in September, and fans booed him loudly Tuesday as he went 0-for-4.

In a report for the Daily News, Adam Rubin writes, “The Mets are signaling they intend to shop Luis Castillo this offseason, even if it means eating some contract.”

Yeah, and the Phillies would like to unload Jenkies and Adam Eaton too. Don't worry these next three years and ~ $18 million will be gone before you know it

Awesome. Freaking rain. This last weekend could get really messed up with postponed games which is not a good thing at all.
