Not that I had updated it in a while anyway, but all the videos on the youtube channel were taken down for copyright infringement.

So would anyone believe me if I told you before the year that Pedro friggin' Feliz would have a .762 OPS at the All Star Break? Including 24 walks. He had 29 in all of last year. If he keeps this up he'll have the highest OBP of his career. It's at .320 right now. I don't really get it. Pedro Feliz has actually been decent.

Weird thing is he sucks at CBP. OPS is 106 points higher on the road. He's having a really strange season.

It's called an anomoly.

The walks are very nice. He has done similar things recently. He had a .753 OPS in '05 and a .792 OPS in '06 with .315 and .306 OBPs before fading in the second half both years. But he didn't have as many walks and he's on pace for a career high there so that's a good thing.

And, although clutchiness can often be a fleeting thing with marginal hitters, he has some really fine clutch numbers -- especially late and close -- .894 OPS in 71 plate appearances.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

i think feliz has had a change in his approach. he has cut down his strikeouts dramatically. the walks (and GIDPs) are just a byproduct of this.

it's safe to say his success vs LHP is an anomoly.

Perhaps not. The Phillies are scoring 5.2 runs and have a .786 OPS on the road. They have scored 4.9 runs and have a .768 OPS at home. They have a 3.80 ERA at home on a .719 OPS. They have a 4.03 ERA on the road with a .770 OPS. CBP is playing as a pitcher's park thus far this year. While Feliz would be expected to be better on the road, his difference is bigger than expected. His home OPS is similar to what he did in San Francisco. His road OPS is much higher. If CBP keeps playing as a pitchers' park, his road OPS should drop closer to his career averages and his home OPS probably won't increase much.
