I think sometime during this winter break (almost half over!) I might go through the box set in chronological order again, and make my own list.

Jack Gould of the NYT on the Beatles first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show

THE cyclical turnover in teen‐age trauma received recognition last night in the businesslike appearance of the Beatles on the “Ed Sullivan Show” over the Columbia Broadcasting System. The boys hardly did for daughter what Elvis Presley did for her older sister or Frank Sinatra for mother....

Televised Beatlemania appeared to be a fine mass placebo, and thanks undoubtedly are .due Britain for a recess in winter's routine. Last night's sedate anticlimax speaks well for continuing British‐American understanding. The British always were much more strict with children

Man, I think my beatles top 10 song list would change every few weeks. I guess that's one sign of a great band though. Albums on the other hand:

1. Rubber Soul (i just find myself listening to it all the time)
2. Abbey Road (that medley is perfect)
3. Sgt Pepper (and yet I don't really get all the Day in the Life love)
4. White Album (lots and lots of hits, some misses too)
5. Revolver (Paul is just amazing)
6. Magical Mystery Tour- (is it possible it can be underrated?)
7. Help (was my favorite when I was a kid. still love so many songs on it.)
8. Let It Be (good album. I just like 7 others better.)
9. A Hard Day's Night (some gems on this)
10. Yellow Submarine (just never really got into it)
