I like the shopping list

Wish it would give reminders instead of just an alarm or to do list

I agree with all of this. Shopping list is great. Now, if my wife would remember to open that damn app in the store then maybe we could have our burgers on some frickin' buns instead of eating them like neanderthals!

I also think that the app needs work. It looks like it was designed by a 4th grader.

I also like the music library. I've been messing around with it just telling her to "Play music" to see what happens. I've heard some stuff that I otherwise wouldn't have that I liked.

So what happens- you talk to this echo thing, and it transcribes to a text shopping list?

I think what I really want it something like a paperwhite, writable screen you can stick on the fridge, and look at / edit from mobile apps. So many times I stop by the supermarket and have either not looked at the paper list or forgotten what was on it.

here's what it looks like on my phone app

Image

everything on that list was put on there by saying " Alexa add splenda (or whatever item) to the shopping list"

looking at the app right now, I wonder if I hit the play button for the song that is in cue if my dogs will get to hear some tunes.

The biggest drawback to the shopping list other than my wife not looking at it (which is really a drawback of my wife and not Alexa's fault) is that you can't give it a list of things to put on it. You can't say, "Alexa, add hamburger buns, bananas and cheese to the shopping list. You have to say, "Alexa, add hamburger buns to the shopping list. Alexa, all bananas to the shopping list. Alexa, add cheese to the shopping list."

Also, Alexa cannot remove an item from the list vocally. You need to go into the app to take it out.

Yes, without the inconvenience of having to press a button to talk to her but with the added inconvenience of not having a screen. Also, you wouldn't travel with her but she does have all of Amazon Prime's music library at her disposal, which is nice.

Plus, adding something to the shopping or To Do lists also adds it to my wife and daughter's phones. Not sure if Siri does that.

Siri does through shared reminders. My wife and I use it for groceries.

Wow $229 for the metal version is a good deal. I'd been waiting for 2nd or even 3rd gen devices before getting one, but that's hard to pass up. I wonder if it's a one-day deal.

Pssshaw, I just read through the reviews, it doesn't buy me back time, so it doesn't do the same thing as the APPLE WATCH™

yeah, those prices are great. really considering the stone leather strap one. 180$ for the watch AND it has an active heart monitor?

was hoping another version would be approaching soon so i could get some more features/battery.

is this bitchin, or a bitch or what

Polaroid Zip Instant Mobile Printer

$129 at entry level

Feels like it has possibilities - especially for the chemistry wizard who comes up with much cheaper photo paper they can sell for under ~$0.49/snapshot

I'm not really sure of a use case there? Maybe if you want to take a selfie with Beyonce' and have her autograph it on the spot?

If I really needed to print mobile, I'd probably by a small $50 bluetooth printer and print on plain paper. Would require an outlet, though.

People like to share photos but not everyone's all smartphone photo sharing skilled. At the right price - and I don't think they're too far off on the high side - the thing has aspects of 'disposable camera'-like usability. I love that they cite 'sticky backing' as a feature of the photos - they clearly have use possibilities in mind, or have researched them

as a business proposition it's got a great razor/razorblades glide path; but I'd imagine adequate quality 'generic' photopaper would be easy for someone to come up with/swipe polaroid's 'razor' revenue with
