I peed next to Manute Bol at Cuba Libre. Some guy interrupted his stream to ask for an autograph. I almost caught collateral fire.

As a dj at Shippensburg's WSYC, I interviewd Eve6 and Third Eye Blind. The guys from Eve6 were cool...they came back to my apartment for a party after the show and Max (the red-headed lead singer) made an anwering machine greeting for us and drank all my girlfriend's peach scnapps.

Third Eye Blind were predictably douchebags.

I talked to Michael Showalter before his show with Eugene Mirman at the Troc. He was a really cool guy

Bake -- was Tim Reynolds a douchebag in person, or do you just not like his music? Because dude can play some guitar. I could see him having a raging Napolean complex, though, cause he's like knee high to a grasshopper.
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

I saw Xzibit on my bachelor party as we were walking through The Palms on our way to Ghostbar. Rumor has it I yelled, "X to the mutha effin Z!!" at him, but I was too drunk to remember.

Well he's a radio host now, so sure, I guess. I actually like him in the morning, but I want to kill the other host he's with.

Very very VERY affected and weird. I grabbed him from the "green room" before his gig and we got in the elevator to head up to the station to record an interview. He looked at me all serious, and said "So is this where the flying saucers come to kidnap me?" There wasn't much else to say after that. And yes, he's the smallest man alive, and at 6'4" I felt very strange around him.

Note: I have a raging hatred for Dave Matthews and everything and everyone affiliated with him, so keep that in mind.

Dave Matthews was GREAT in Because of Winn Dixie!

I also got to meet Joe Paterno when I was doing some work for the local paper.

Oh, I met Radiohead at the museum, but in my most personal case of 'nice guys finish last' 'no rest for the weary' 'life is unfair' trauma, the obnoxious educator who fawned and gasped over them in spite of hardly ever hearing of them before that day got four backstage passes for her kid and his friends while calm, polite me can't even get regular tickets with cash money.

At 18, I was a sportswriting prodigy of the likes nobody has seen before or since that time. My dreams were crushed because I got nervous asking questions of even high school coaches let alone college legends.

I used to work at NBC, down the hall from the "Saturday Night Live" offices, so I'd frequently find myself at the urinal next to Tim Meadows, Norm McDonald, etc. One night in 1995 or so, a middle-aged balding guy walked into our cube farm with a confused look on his face. I thought, in order: "That guy looks like my dad; that's not my dad; that's Chevy Chase."

Also at NBC, while waiting for an elevator probably that same year, the doors opened up and I saw Mike Ditka and Joe Gibbs. I stared at them for a couple seconds--then Ditka ROARED, "Come on, are you getting on or not!" I got on.

Since then, not so much with the celebs. My wife and I saw Matt Dillon at a concert in Central Park last summer.

My all-time favorite of these is that my uncle was a frat brother of Jonathan Frakes, who played Commander Riker on the second Star Trek series, at Penn State in the early '70s. In the afternoons, they'd get stoned and watch reruns of... Star Trek.
