I have a friend who moved to San Diego and has done some work in the music recording industry in southern California. He has worked with some has-beens like Vertical Horizon, also worked with Ryan Adams at some point in a production capacity.

He is a huge Bob Dylan fan. HUGE (like Safeco). Well, he got a call from Dylan's management that essentially said, "Bob Dylan would like to work with you. Expect a call soon." He was ecstatic, so happy, called everyone.

The problem? His answering machine was a recording of William Shatner singing "Mr. Tambourine Man". Happens that a certain Mr. Dylan called his house when he wasn't home.

So he gets home after dinner, checks his machine, and there's one message on it. After a long pause and some indiscernable mumbling, a very irritated Bob Dylan can clearly be heard saying, "Hey Man, what the ****"?

The next day, he gets a call from Dylan's management, who simply says, "Bob Dylan does not desire to work with you anymore."

I can't even get a laugh out of that. That's really sad.

I always knew Bob Dylan was a prick with no sense of humor.

Mick Jagger in the hallway of the Westin in Madrid. Had a camera with me, but figured I'd leave him alone.

most recent for me was Mitch Williams at the Harrah's Casino in Chester down watching the live harness racing ....it was the day the jenkins and durbin signings were announced , said he like jenkins hitting in philly . I did bump into coach dunphy walking into the penn st - temple football game in philly.

When working down the Lagoon i talked to many athletes , mostly eagles who were there for the Ray Rhodes coaches show in 95 they taped like the last 5 or 6 episodes there and he always had player(s) on. Don Tolifison (sp) was the host and it seemed like no one liked him.

Met some flyer players down there , i had to help Lindros out a back exit 1 time because fans were all over him ( in a good way , this is when he was kicking ass on the ice). Pat Falloon was down there a few times but not many people knew who he was.

He has it. After the shock wore off, it was a constant source of humor for him.

Walked past Bobby Flay last night on 8th Avenue.

Also, last week I was in Austin. Saw Vince Young in a hotel. I recognized his weird-shaped head from about 100 feet away.

The people I was with rode an elevator with Perry Farrell and worked out in the gym with Justin Timberlake.
