He's not started hot wars, but has restarted a cold war, and has by accident/on purpose fomented a civil war.

Do not forget that he did almost get us into a war with Iran when they obliterated a senior government official, then as a peace offering did not acknowledge/lied about the retaliation on US troops.

yea i'm talking exclusively about the bush wars continued under obama. i guess the fact they were continued by obama explains his hard on for ending them though...

Doesn't take into account any of the Town Halls of course, but Trump's net disapproval on the 538 aggregate, which had dropped below 8 points recently, now goes up to 11. Whatever he's doing, I hope he'll keep doing it.

Wars are a lot of work. He's probably wanted to start several and then they set up meetings on the weekend and during Hannity so he blows them off and they forget about it.

He definitely hates the wars because Bush/Obama did them, definitely too lazy to start new ones, but there's also a racist element here. The isolationist faction on the right is always talking about brown refugees flooding Europe and America.

Drone strikes have gotten way worse under Trump, by the way.

Not sure that being treated unfairly by the media (even if true) qualifies Trump for another term.

Cable ratings are in for the town hall last night:

Biden (on just ABC): 13.9 million viewers
Trump (on NBC, CNBC, and MSNBC): 13.0 million viewers

That's gonna sting.

White House was warned Giuliani was target of Russian intelligence operation to feed misinformation to Trump

Some lazy ass reporting by WaPo right there, but good details.

The warnings were based on multiple sources, including intercepted communications, that showed Giuliani was interacting with people tied to Russian intelligence during a December 2019 trip to Ukraine, where he was gathering information that he thought would expose corrupt acts by former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

Trump “shrugged his shoulders” and said “That’s Rudy.”

Not a good poll for Al Gross in Alaska. The poll included John Howe who is running in that race as a member of the Alaskan Independent Party. In Howe's ballotpedia photo he is wearing one of those brown leather Snap-On jackets you get if you collect enough UPC codes or something.

His wording was definitely clunky, but the way I heard it was that he was trying to push back against those who say being transgender is a choice because no one would "choose" to be trans to make their lives easier due to the discrimination/scorn that trans people too often face.

Yeh, I'm sure that's what he meant. I was expecting that answer to be bad after reading the thread here, but when he said it, I heard the same thing you did.

She will absolutely be parodied on SNL. This election’s Ken Bone. Kate McKinnon won’t even have to act.

Perhaps, as you alluded to earlier, that is because you are married to a professional in that field.

Biden, like most of us, is not as connected to the trans community and not as aware of the proper terminology to use when discussing these sensitive matters. We can obviously all do better on that front.

I completely understand the military, even the retired military, avoiding making any public statements on Trump. But I do feel like Kelly's rebuke was done in the most spineless manner I could think of. Just step up and be a man. He was already Trump's b**** so what's it going to hurt?

This describes literally no self-described libertarian I've ever met in real life. The only thing I've ever heard them talk about is guns and taxes.

when I watched them on youtube late last night, Biden had over a million more viewers on the youtubes (2,700,000 to 1,600,000)

He pulled out of the debate, then got one scheduled on a different network, then the media talked pretty much only about him up to the point of the townhalls. He has consistently gotten more media play than his opponents because he's a master of stealing the news cycle, even if it is bad publicity. I think one of the biggest issues dems face is that most americans, even the ones on the left, believe the media is liberal when that is no longer true. It's not the 70's anymore.

I also don't think Trump's townhall was bad. I thought he did a much better job making his case and I don't think her interrupting him with facts even made a dent. I couldn't even understand what she said half the time because he was always talking. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a little bounce from it, though I think the 52% now for Biden will be very hard for Trump to get below 50%. Most people have made up their mind.
