How wasn’t it good? The question was that trump has discriminated against transgender individuals and Biden said he will reverse all that executive order BS and support the community. I agree he bounced around a bit in his response but thought it was fine. Was surprised he didn’t show more personal connection with the woman - saying how difficult it must be for her to even be there to ask that.

I think the issue would have lied in the beginning of the answer, when he seemed to say that her daughter chose to be transgender. It's a thorny subject for sure, but as far as I understand it and where we're at in the public discourse these days, you don't act like people just wake up one day and choose to be transgender.

To be honest, I’m not sure I would’ve picked up on it had it not be an issue discussed in aftermath of ACB hearing the other day. Yeah, ok, not great from that POV.

Edit - and that’s my ignorance in that I could’ve said the same thing joe said without realizing what it meant despite being a supporter of LBGTQ community.

Yeah, that was the issue I saw with the answer. I think for the most part he recovered after that to put together something coherent. Heart's in the right place on issues like this, but his vocab needs to catch up.

Yeah, that's kind of what I meant by the low bar thing. My wife has been a therapist for the LGBQT population for 10 years and that kind of wording can be really upsetting to them.
