I would definitely like to know more about the idea behind these stadium voting centers. the value isn't apparent to me to have a bunch of people from a range of districts take the subway to the stadium where I guess a staff of NBA-paid employees will be taking votes? will they even have the legal framework in place for the votes to be accepted? in particular, if the concern is suppression in Republican-controlled areas, why would they allow this operation?

i think for a number of other states, the idea is to serve as an early voting location (the hawks in atlanta for example). PA does not have that. there is a work around where you can request a mail in ballot in person, they can print it, you fill it out, and turn it right back in.

I do agree it's not worthy of immediate derision to question the logistics. I assume everyone working the event will be volunteer poll works just like at any polling site. It will be a logistical mess, but if cities can nail the logistics it should offer safe and quick voting. I assume some franchises will foot the bill to set up the sites, but I have not seen anything concrete.

Someone posted something similar around the same time on one my local Facebook community pages. That they were going to the Walmart in Oxford, PA. Wound up nothing but a bunch of armed red necks and cops showed up. They thought they scared them away. It’s all just so fucking ridiculous.

Antifa is not coming to loot the Walmart in bumblefuck western Chester county at 1:00 in the afternoon on a Thursday.

thanks, that could be interesting. still not really sold on the efficiency but anything helps, I guess

is it legal to have people drive around neighborhoods and offer these turnaround mail-in ballots before the election?

Russian journalists have discovered data from Michigan voter data rolls—including the personal info of 7.6 million Michigan voters—on a Russian hackers’ platform. It also includes voter info from other swing states, including Florida and NC

i don't think so just from a execution standpoint. since each precinct may have a slightly different ballot they need to print them individually for each person.

Delco is working on having two locations for voting like this. I think starting in September sometime. they estimate it will take about 20 minutes for someone to vote.

but beyond that, on election day, it may be helpful. having more places to vote can only help. especially because the stadiums are a place everyone knows. like they may not know how to find st john church or whatever (even though they are generally within a few blocks of someones home. however, if a bunch of those have to close and the stadiums can offer voting to anyone in the city, regardless of precinct, i can see it being helpful. especially for folks who again, dont know where their polling place is due it being closed/moved or they have never voted before.

I mean, OK, but the question really is what do the Russians want with that info?

Trump is denying that he had mini strokes last Fall. However, I am not entirely sure that it was ever reported that it was mini strokes?
