Plea agreement perhaps?

Otherwise it makes zero sense. Trump will likely be dead in eight years.

The Russians came through with the kompromat on Vance.

But I think Bucky is probably right. He'll get the same result in a week. Or maybe they got what they needed from Deutsch Bank. I think they sent their stuff over already.

I really doubt we'll see his tax returns before the election, unless there's a leak. I'll thank the leaker in advance.

I don't know how this stuff works. I assumed that Trump and team, if there is evidence that is strong enough, will be prosecuted in 2021 if Trump is no longer in control of the DOJ.

The "eight years" is eight years of tax returns. It could be taken up again after the Second Circuit hears the appeal on September 1.

It was very confusing. I read it as an 8-year delay initially, too.

People seem to be all excited that the East Wing has not had the speech vetted by the West Wing or RNC. I say that there is no reason to expect anything really of the type of excitement that the anti-Trump world is craving. She is not going to come out and torpedo him no matter what.

I do like that it is a big deal that Mrs. Trump spent significant time writing every word of this address on her own. The only reason this is a big deal at all is that she plagiarized Michele Obama last turn. That bar is so low it is laying on the ground in a gutter below a curb.

Pompeo is speaking as a "private citizen" to the RNC. Does that happen? Is the SOS ever just a regular old joe during his appointment where his awe shucks comments are just some personal musings? Do personal statement happen while on an official state trip or are you always on the clock? Seems like the trip is a really expensive backdrop to deliver a speech for the boss sponsored by the tax payer, but that is OK because the campaign owes millions to taxpayers already that they will never pay.

I'm having a hard time getting my head around the no party platform thing--is this real? What the fuck? Where is the media on this? This literally means the Republican Party is a personality cult.

#Guilfoylechallenge is hilarious, but almost as much as Guilfoyle saying that she is a proud first generation American from Puerto Rico. When the coke wears off think she will figure it out? I saw AOC reached out to her Latina sister the help her out.

What is an "Angel Mom?" Presumably they don't all share anti-semitic conspiracies.

Imagine your secret weapon being a hooker.

That's more than a touch unfair.

Hahahahaha, I was thinking, “Wow, Melania’s speech is really kinda nice, she is really hitting a home run, it’s striking a very nice tone” — turns out she and her team didn’t show it to the campaign ahead of time and she refused to be escorted to the podium by the President as originally planned.

From her speech:

“It is still one of the proudest moments in my life because with hard work and determination, I was able to achieve my own American dream,” Melania Trump said. “As an immigrant and a very independent woman, I understand what a privilege it is to live here and to enjoy the freedoms and opportunities that we have.”

Yeh, must have been rough having to spend all those days in a luxury mansion, etc. Yet another enormously rich person who has done nothing to earn their wealth, but acts like their life was forged in some fiery furnace of hard work and determination. I guess being with the Donald is hard work, but I'm sure that isn't the kid of hard work she's talking about.

This was her last chance to save her soul. Hope she ends up in prison with the rest of them.

On the one hand, she’s a gold digger so it’s hard to feel too sorry for her. On the other hand, her being trapped in whatever bizarre situation she’s in might be a punishment that doesn’t quite fit the crime. Especially when you consider her target of gold digging is a horrible human being who nobody would’ve felt sorry for had she taken his money. Tough call.
