I didn't get it until I solved the clue clues (the revealer I guess in xword speak). Even then I had to remind myself over and over to stop pursuing impossible answers. I got the hawn answer and a couple others before then, but nothing clicked.

The constructor tweeted that she went back and forth over whether to include the clue to the puzzle, but decided that average solvers might want it. I am thus decidedly average.

I wonder what the results would be if he showed the earlier generations too. I'm Gen X, but I'd probably be lost trying to identify more than a handful of songs by Sinatra or Elvis or Chuck Berry.

Millennials and Gen Zers both know My Heart Will Go On and I bet Gen Xers do too, but what about Boomers? Do older generations know that life is demanding without understanding?

The fact that my heart will go on was in titantic means people will know that song forever.

speaking of which, my Saturday paper never arrived last weekend, so it was the first time I did the puzzle online. I usually just do it Friday , Saturday and Sunday, since that's when I get the NYT. But since I was signed up, I started doing it every day. Now I've got a six day streak and I have to decide whether to keep it going or just get back in the habit of finding some free time with the paper to fill it out in print, which I enjoy.

I'd do well with stuff before my time. In the last few years I've mostly lost touch with new music.

I confirmed this by watching beat shazam last night.

apparently national tequila day...

nothing worse than cheap tequila. some dude one morning some years back, kept buying the bar rounds of this shit. after a few trips to hover over the toilet and waking up with the nastiest hangover next to my bed later that day, i have become very particular with regards to the tequila i drink.

warning... never go cheaper than cuervo. play it safe and go patron or julio for a few extra bucks and won't break the bank. clase azul tho, in a league of it's own. not cheap.

We don't get the paper so we always do it on iPad. You do lose something but it makes fixing screw ups easier...and I like the pen vs pencil function...and the nice little hit when you get the 'yep you got it!' pop up at completion.

And I'm glad she kept it because I'd have had zero chance without the revealer. I brute forced the top right corner and was completely clueless on the rest until I finished the clue.

Definitely a lot of advantages electronically, and I got better at it as time went on. I mostly don't like the timer, which i'd like to ignore but can't and turns it into a more intense experience than I really want for doing the puzzle. Not that my times are any good when I do pay attention to the clock. I finished today's puzzle in pretty good time for me. But the time Rex Parker posted on his blog was 5:18. I literally doubt I could have the completed puzzle in the paper at hand and copy it into the online grid in that time.

just figured out that this hard crusty booger just inside the tip of my nose is a scab from when i had to dig out an ingrown hair there and left a nasty wound. now i have to decide if i want this to heal properly but have what looks like a booger protruding from my nose or if i just keep picking at it and not have anyone stare or make fun of me and just go through life without it ever healing. kinda sucks. probably should self quarantine for this.

My musical tastes apparently froze in my early 30s since that's the latest music that I can recognize upon listening. Probably why I tell Alexa to play 2000s music for me all the time.

I think there's actually science that shows that this is fairly normal in all aspects of your tastes. Music is just so personal and varied that it shines most there.

Update on my eBay PayPal thing. I got in touch with them and they told me that the funds would be released within 24 hours of the tracking number saying that it was delivered. It was delivered yesterday, the funds still weren't released, so I contacted them. They confirmed that it was delivered, but now they are telling me that they are going to hold the money for another 21 days to ensure there are no disputes unless I contact the buyer and have the buyer confirm receipt to Paypal. I'm leary of this, I don't want to tell the seller that if he doesn't do this then I can't keep the money because he could just dispute it and then get his money back and then I'm out the money and the iPad. The only reason Paypal is giving me is that this is outside of my normal activity, well I mean no shit, I'm not a professional seller. I feel like they are holding me hostage here over $500, what the fuck.
