A few media figures have done a good job, but most are terrible:
1. Sycophants like Hannity
2. The "we have to be fair" crowd like Todd, who are either too weak or too stupid to challenge him and his cronies
3. The people who do challenge him have either become #resistance self-parody like Maddow or make the story about themselves like Acosta
The irony is that the media have become de facto pro-Trump. The first group is doing advocacy work, the second group gives cover to his lies, and the third group feeds his "the media is out to get me" narrative without actually hurting his credibility in a meaningful way. I think this ultimately happens with every president, since our media culture is way more deferential to authority than those of other countries.
