Police are down there protecting THEM despite them breaking the law by having firearms in the park. They told someone I know to 'movw along" because he was recording it and "provoking" them. They had threatened to beat him up.

I didn't get it completely right, and sometimes I hedged my words because of my audience, but if they can't deal with their own racism, I don't know what else to do.

This story circulated post Charlottesville, but I think it's relevant to critically look at the timeline presented and when a number of these monuments and memorials were established. These were not things that were established immediately after the civil war or even a few years after as commemorations, but the big surge comes at the turn of the century, 30 years after the civil war. Why? Well of course it's because traction was being gained for some amount of dignity to be shown to first generation Americans of African slaves. Mind you, these people would be middle-aged at that point. The NAACP was formed in that period of time, and then things sort of modulate until the civil rights surge in the sixties drove a new quest to memorialize racists who fought against the United States for the right to own people. Specifically black people who had been ripped from Africa so that they could perform the vital work of bringing prosperity to whites in the south. What is shocking when you look at the color code of the timeline is that you see this coincides with brown versus the board of education and the new monuments rise up, unlike the South has ever been able to do, at schools. I'm sure there's no messages there, much less racism, just history. A dark f****** period Of American history.

Great job beez and fantastic message. My family's second station in life was in Lancaster county, and we did not have a single black family that I am aware of until my sophomore year in high school. When I graduated we'd moved that needle all the way to two. And the barbarians I went to high school with for the largest racists you could ever imagine. They were just relentless, at least with the guy in my grade. I'd often wondered what it would be like in that scenario out where you are, but clearly from your words it's not great.

I hope your messages heard and understood by your congregants, and that there's a realization and appreciation about how this world is and how it must operate. Hang in there.

A splinter group of armed protesters left guarding the Columbus Statue in Marconi Plaza, are now in front of a house they believe Mayor Kenney is located.

This is all happening near the intersection of South 13th Street and Packer Avenue. Protesters started marching toward the house just after 7 p.m. Sunday.

There's no word if the mayor is actually at this residence, Action Cam is on scene and police are on location.
