lol they already had his Apple iCloud account from earlier in the week and evidence from there supported the warrant for his cellphone and other materials.

He’s fucked.

I don't know that much has changed here, I think we're all just more aware of it thanks to social media.

Even 10-15 years ago, Twitter wasn't a thing and Facebook was for college kids. Websites / boards were out there with these opinions but you had to go out of your way to find them, vs. now Facebook and Twitter has given every idiot a platform in a way that is much more difficult to ignore / avoid.

Add that now there is so much more competition for eyeballs among "media" outlets (who have always been driven by "if it bleeds, it leads" to begin with) and that these outlets have figured out more than ever that their best shot at getting eyeballs is to rile up their own corner of the world for a higher conversion rate vs. trying to attract those outside of their "base" and you're left with few attempts at any form of responsible reporting or analysis.

Meanwhile Twitter and Facebook shrugged and suggested they're simply a town square bringing people together, with no responsibility to prevent any of this shit, and this is where we're at.

TL;DR - nothing has really changed, we're just more aware of the bullshit

46 and rainy in Flint today. Lets see what that does to the protest with force crew. There was a report from someone (did not catch who he was, but clearly an instigator) that they are on the down side of the curve (~400 new cases on 12 May VS the height of the curve at ~2000) so that is following the data. Now call me a skeptic, but does data that not show that the 'stay at home' order has been working?

He also said that the media misconstrued the last protest because they demonstrated that the weapons were mere accessories since they were not loaded. That sounds dumber then if they were trying for the 'well formed militia' gambit.

Please go after Obama. It is the dumbest political strategy humanly possible.

I mean, it'd be an annoying 6 months for Barry but it's his penance for not doing more in 2016.

Feel like Trump admin is out of moves re: virus on a federal level (momentum for reopening is a runaway train and I doubt he’ll put any plan in additional stay at home plan in place if there’s a flare up - also doubt there will be any breakthrough on testing)

It also looks like his influence on Fed is waning (based on Powell resisting negative interest rate push). Thus His power to try to directly pump the stock market is waning. Economic pain through Q3 is inevitable - damage has already been done on demand side. And further stimulus will not be coming immediately/quickly as Turtle and co are now digging in on latest bill

Based on the above I think the most realistic political move for Trump is pivot to full saber rattling on China (or as he calls it GYNA) for ruining his beautiful economy. The rhetoric has already been ramping up but look for even more escalations as well as potentially a restart to the trade war garbage

A bunch of republican state legislators out stoking the flames this morning.

https://www.facebook.com/PASenateGOP/vi ... 459199766/

Favorite part is all of them are like "People are smart" as they stand there without masks and shaking hands.

The risk of dying is worth it for our freedoms! Well risking old people.

The whole thing ends with them taking questions from insane people who showed up to watch this.

If Republicans were smart -- a significant stretch for them -- they'd use this as a talking point instead of just "FREEDOMS." Not to say they actually care about children (especially poor ones), but it's way less easy to make fun of: https://www.theguardian.com/global-deve ... oronavirus

This week state republicans voted down several amendments to their "re-open" bills that would have protected workers. They don't actually care about protecting people, Eem.

The parts of the base fired up about this also don't care about babies in other countries. They care about their constitutional right to all you can eat buffets.

What exactly would the “smart” talking point be?

“UNICEF says kids are dying around the world due the disruptions caused by COVID. therefore we need to open back up”

What MAGA chud is buying that?

McConnell: “Senator Burr contacted me this morning to inform me of his decision to step aside as Chairman of the Intelligence Committee during the pendency of the investigation. We agreed that this decision would be in the best interests of the committee“

It is always good to know who has you on their foe list.

Senator Burr was a good chairman for the IC, much better than that clown Nunes in the House. I find it hard to believe there are many tears in the West Wing that he had to step down.
