I'm hoping some former friends of the good ol' USofA open their doors to us. I'd kinda like to move the family back to Germany after 300 years here.

This is the most despair I've personally felt about the country (born '85). Conservatives are arguing that black people can be killed for running down the street, that all of us should be willing to die for economic growth, and that anything the previous (black) president did is illegal while the current one is above the law. Dark shit. Meanwhile they think the biggest threat to the future of America is the 1619 Project.

Asked if he agreed with Fauci's concerns, Trump said, "Look, he wants to play all sides of the equation."

"I was surprised by his answer, actually" Trump said when asked for clarification. "To me it's not an acceptable answer, especially when it comes to schools."

I agree it’s not an acceptable answer but that’s trumps fault for putting us in this position.

Does anyone have any good insight into the Chester Water Authority situation? We don’t get our water from them, we have a well, but there is a reservoir they own near us that is public land and we go out fishing and stuff there. There’s a complicated situation where it might be sold to aqua water, which will close it off for public use. So I am against it, but it seems like the Democrats are in favor of the sale and the GOP is against it. But ultimately I’m having a hard time finding unbiased information.

Breaking via LA Times: Federal agents seized a cellphone belonging to Republican Sen. Richard Burr as part of the Justice Department's investigation into controversial stock trades he made as the coronavirus struck the US, a law enforcement official said.

Lol just came to post that. They served a search warrant on his DC residence.

A second law enforcement official said FBI agents served a warrant in recent days on Apple to obtain information from Burr’s iCloud account and said agents used data obtained from the California-based company as part of the evidence used to obtain the warrant for the senator’s phone.

...

The same day Burr sold his stocks, Burr’s brother-in-law, Gerald Fauth, sold between $97,000 and $280,000 worth of six stocks, according to documents filed with the Office of Government Ethics.

FBI doesn't do that to a Senator without knowing where the fire is most likely.

I’m sure the DOJ will find some new evidence to exonerate him after he pleads guilty.

I have absolutely no insight into the CWA situation, and no personal stake either . But as always a random observation by a poster seems far more interesting to me than the actual work I'm supposed to be doing.

Seems the sides aren't surprising since it's the City of Chester that would reap any benefits of the sale, if in fact they can establish that they are legally able to sell the CWA. So county Republicans are suddenly on the side of the public commission rather than privatization since they have no skin in the game except what political hay they can make by appearing as protectors of lower rates and access to environmental areas. The State of PA though, leans toward the sale since it would be dedicated to balancing Chester's financial woes, meaning they wouldn't have to step in with additional aid. FWIW, Aqua has committed to "access for continued use of Octoraro" though what the level would be or how legally binding is totally up for grabs. I skimmed through a bunch of articles but found this recent on almost too unbiased, as it seemed to take everyone's assertions at face value.

She said well why don’t we volunteer to work the polls this time around then so that maybe a retiree doesn’t have to expose themselves etc. so that’s what we are doing!

I suggested the same thing because my in-laws have been volunteering for years and they aren't going to do it this year due to the virus. I think we decided against it because we thought we might still expose her parents. But maybe we'll still do it. Either way, good on you.
