With a “frustrated” President Trump growing restless after a month of nationwide shutdowns, his top aides and campaign officials are exploring ways to start to have him venturing outside of Washington, DC, for events in the coming weeks.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Wednesday he favors allowing states struggling with high public employee pension costs amid the burdens of the pandemic response to declare bankruptcy rather than giving them a federal bailout.

“I would certainly be in favor of allowing states to use the bankruptcy route,” he said Wednesday in response to a question on the syndicated Hugh Hewitt radio show. “It’s saved some cities, and there’s no good reason for it not to be available.”


Well, there is the Donald Trump in your GOP baby. Bankruptcy? I’ll have to thank you. Of course there’s the general disposition of fuck the worker that’s always been part of the Mitch McConnell’s of the world.

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll in three key battleground states finds Joe Biden leading President Trump in all of them.

Michigan: Biden 46%, Trump 38%
Pennsylvania: Biden 46%, Trump 40%
Wisconsin: Biden 43%, Trump 40%

The week over week polls on reopening are significantly pointed towards more shelter in place. He’s pivoting because his LIBERATE strategy is not what the public wants right now. Another example of great leadership!

I would argue with you, but one of the greatest losses of this pandemic is that I used to get together with a friend and horn in on their HBO subscription to catch up on John Oliver during the week, so I'm about four weeks behind.

But wait! Didn't realize you could watch full episodes on youtube, which I get on my TV (I never watch things on my computer, because I'm old). Caught the latest, and while he certainly does come at things from a certain angle it was all straight talk, and very funny despite the funereal atmosphere of the home studio.

Who knows if I'll ever catch up with the episode you saw, but I'll definitely tune in next time if I have any idea what day of the week it is then.

Recent Fox News polls have Biden up 8% in PA and MI. Managing expectations is good advice since I think they're all registered voter polls, not likely voter polls which will narrow those margins.
Drunk and stupid is no way to be remembered but it is an easy way to forget.
